Experimental data were used to examine mortality. Also, histological examination of the gills and hepatopancreas was conducted to determine pathological consequences of exposure to these stressors. School Prawn did not experience mortality in response to acute exposure to Al under normal pH conditions, but mortality and tissue bioaccumulation of Al was greater under acidic conditions, suggesting an interactive effect of both stressors. Histology revealed sub-lethal effects of Al including structural abnormalities in the gills and hepatopancreas, and evidence of viral infection and immune response, particularly at lower pH and higher Al concentrations. These impacts may impede major vital functions such as respiration, osmotic regulation, metabolism and growth of juvenile School Prawn, which could contribute to productivity bottlenecks in degraded estuaries.]]> Tue 16 Aug 2022 11:19:40 AEST ]]> Corrosion and pitting of 6060 series aluminium after 2 years exposure in seawater splash, tidal and immersion zones https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:43131 Tue 13 Sep 2022 15:07:25 AEST ]]> Atmospheric and immersion corrosion of steel alloyed with aluminium https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:46042 Thu 10 Nov 2022 14:51:10 AEDT ]]> Lean methane combustion over palladium loaded on alumina and HBETA zeolite: the role of the support on water vapour inhibition https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:32657 Thu 05 Jul 2018 10:55:14 AEST ]]> Local produce: Some 'transnational' currents in materiality, art and economy https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:9537 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:35:50 AEDT ]]> Molecular dynamics simulation of the alloying reaction in Al-coated Ni nanoparticle https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:10230 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:11:27 AEDT ]]> Impurity diffusion coefficients of Al and Zn in Mg determined from solid-to-solid diffusion couples https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:19465 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:02:22 AEDT ]]> Structural and electronic properties of chain-like structures formed by mixed PbAl dimers on Si(001) - computational DFT study https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:20076 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:00:11 AEDT ]]> Molecular dynamics simulation of alloying in an Al-coated Ti nanoparticle https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:19885 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:56:54 AEDT ]]> Roll-to-roll sputter coating of aluminum cathodes for large-scale fabrication of organic photovoltaic devices https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:28254 −2. The aluminum penetration into the P3HT:PCBM film was found to be consistent with the depth of this oxide layer, suggesting that aluminum penetration into the organic film is not the primary reason for performance limitations in sputtered devices. Introduction of thermally evaporated aluminum buffer layers prior to deposition of sputtered aluminum cathodes demonstrated that the performance of devices after annealing matched those of reference devices prepared with no sputtering for a buffer layer thickness of only 20 nm. Further analysis of the device J--V curves revealed an S-shaped kink prior to annealing, indicating that the major reason for the poor performance in sputtered devices was the introduction of a charge extraction barrier at the cathode, which was subsequently removed upon annealing. Rigorous removal of oxygen from the sputtering chamber prior to aluminum deposition onto the P3HT:PCBM active layer was subsequently observed to produce a device with an efficiency close to that of the thermally evaporated reference device without the requirement for evaporated buffer layers. The results presented here highlight a pathway towards an alternative R2R cathode fabrication technique that allows the highly efficient aluminum cathodes employed in small-scale devices to be transferred onto large-scale, flexible, and low-cost R2R printed organic electronic devices.]]> Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:28:36 AEDT ]]> Solid-electrolyte interphases (SEI) in nonaqueous aluminum-ion batteries https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:47195 Mon 29 Jan 2024 18:05:36 AEDT ]]>
